Taking Notes in College

I truly believe taking good quality notes in class is a survival tool in college. Most college professors will lecture only the information they will test you on. It is important to have a pen and paper ready in class and the skills to successfully jot the notes and then use the notes to study.

Did you know that 65% of people are visual learners

That is a large percentage of people. What is a visual learner? Visual learner style in which ideas, concepts, data, and other information are associated with images and techniques.

When regarding note taking, it is helpful for visual learners to have clear and visually stimulating notes. The notes should keep the reader's attention (which would be yourself) and clear enough to be able to skim to the important details, as well as having visual queues.

Lets break this down.

1. Buy yourself good pens.

- gel pens
- assorted colors
(pilot  G-2  or papermate makes great pens)

2. Be organized

- one notebook per class.
- class notes should be in one section, rewritten notes in another section
